POTW: 60010 Feeds Kids Fundraiser

Published October 14, 2019

Among the many clubs at Barrington High School, 60010 Feeds Kids is like no other. Saturday and Sunday, October 12th and 13th, the club hosted their annual Jewel Osco Fundraiser from 10 am-2 pm both days. Here is a message from junior Morgan Larson, founder of 60010 Feeds Kids:

Hello!  We are a group of students from Barrington High School and Station Middle School who are fundraising for a mobile food packaging program.  60010 Feeds Kids has a group of 24 students who are raising the funds and organizing the food packing event.

In 2017 the Station NJHS class raised money and packaged almost 12,000 meals for hungry children. In 2018, we continued the program and worked with the new NJHS class.  Together we raised money and packaged over 21,000 meals!  This year we are growing it again! This is our first year with a high school board that is helping to grow the program and mentor Station Middle School’s new NJHS class.

As always, we are working with Kids Around The World’s One Meal program. This is a food packing program that brings together a team of people to help meet the nutritional needs of starving children. This program helps kids in 18 different countries including the US. More can be learned about this program at http://www.katw.net/onemeal/
