POTW: Choirfest!

Published January 19, 2019

Students and staff of the high school and middle schools came together on Friday, January 18th to have an annual combined concert. Choirfest is a day trip in which the middle schoolers work alongside the high schoolers to learn music, vocal technique as well as get to know more about the choir program.  The intention for the day is to get middle schoolers excited about joining choir in high school and allow them to feel a part of the program. Junior Melissa Ivers says that the experience is great for both her and the younger students. “[Choirfest] is a great opportunity to welcome and get to know the kids who are eventually going to be in our program,” Ivers said. “It’s cool to share our music with them, listen to the music that they’ve worked on and finally come together and sing a song at the end.”
