The Orchesis Dance Company is ready to take the stage for Elevate Part 2, a highly anticipated spring dance showcase filled with student choreography, senior solos, guest-choreographed pieces and the always-popular Orchebros dance. This year’s show will also feature a special performance of the company’s state-winning routine, giving audiences another chance to witness the award-winning talent of these dancers.
Senior Ava Hutchison promises an exciting and diverse lineup. “Our fall show is mostly studio-choreographed, but the spring show has so many fun extras,” she said. “We have senior solos, Orchebros and even our piece that made it to state. It’s a chance for everyone to see how much we’ve grown throughout the year.”
One of the show’s biggest crowd-pleasers is Orchebros, where 13 senior Orchesis dancers each select a male senior partner to perform alongside them. Among this year’s pairs are Hutchison and Carson Skinner, who have been working hard to perfect their routine.
Hutchison, who co-choreographed the Orchebros routine with Olivia Loughlin, is especially excited for this year’s performance. “The guys really stepped up,” she said. “They wanted more ripples and dynamic moments, so we took in their feedback and made some changes. It’s going to be really fun to watch.”

For Skinner, a volleyball player stepping onto the dance stage, the experience has been both exciting and challenging. “There’s a lot to it,” he said. “We practice every Wednesday, and sometimes I miss for volleyball, but Ava helps me catch up outside of rehearsals.”
Despite the challenges, Skinner has embraced his role. “Since Ava choreographed it, I somehow ended up front and center for most of the performance,” he joked. “That means 10 times more pressure, 10 times more reps, and 10 times more meaning to my movement.”
With a mix of high-energy group performances, emotional solos, a state-recognized routine and the always-entertaining Orchebros number, Elevate Part 2 is shaping up to be a must-see event.
“We’ve put so much heart into this show,” Hutchison added. “It’s our last performance as seniors, and we just want to go out with a bang.”
Catch the show on April 11 at 7 p.m., April 12 at 7 p.m. and April 13 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students.
