Review: Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile
Ted Bundy: Smart, charming, clever also has the side of being extremely wicked and shockingly evil and vile. A former law student that ended up taking the wrong path in life. With over 36 confirmed kills, Ted Bundy was a serial killer.
Zac Efron playing Ted Bundy was one of Efron’s best work. Efron is an extremely talented actor playing over at least 33 movies, Efron has always been the “good guy”. In the new movie, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, Efron plays a much more evil role than he usually plays.
The movie portrays the infamous serial as a hero more so than evil, this then creates a lot of suspense for the viewers. Ted’s perspective made it seemed like he was being set up and the positioning of the camera showed him how worried he was about being found guilty over and over.
Bundy had a family with two people and it was very disturbing to know he with a straight face would lie to them about his actions.
A scene that really hits any viewer hard is after Bundy’s closing statement of Bundy, and where the judge stated, “Take care of yourself, young man. I say that to you sincerely; take care of yourself, please. It is an utter tragedy for this court to see such a total waste of humanity as I’ve experienced in this courtroom. You’re a bright young man. You would have made a good lawyer and I would have loved to have you practice in front of me, but you went another way, partner.”
I give this movie a 5/5, the way Bundy seemed so innocent made me believe him, but in the end, it just horrified me personally because it was not something I was expecting. I would recommend this movie to anyone that loves suspenseful movies. Some movies/Tv schools are Dexter and Zodiac.
