Q: When did you start playing your sport?
A: I started running seriously during COVID, with so many other sports canceled or changed I had time to run, so toward the end of my 7th grade year. Until then I played a lot of sports throughout elementary and middle school and ran a few races for fun when I was younger, I started training properly the summer before high school.
Q: Who is your biggest mentor?
A: My biggest mentor is Coach Deb, our high school coach. She ran at NC State and since I’ve been on the team I have been determined to run in college too. She’s been the coach at BHS for 37 years so she knows so much and nothing bothers her. I can always talk to her about training or how things are going for myself and for the team. Four years between cross country, indoor and outdoor track is a lot of time spent with your coach and I really respect her and appreciate everything she’s done for me.
Q: What is favorite memory from your sport?
A: My favorite memory would be everything about the cross country state meet last year. I was the cross country state champion and the team won the 3rd place trophy it was amazing. We loved that weekend as a team and the feeling that all our hard work had paid off.

Q: When did you start playing your sport?
A: I recently committed to play at UNC Asheville. I have been playing for 12 years and I started playing because my mom played all throughout her life, including high school, college and even after college. Volleyball runs in my family and I am happy to keep the tradition going. Seeing how much volleyball has positively impacted my family, it made me want to play.
Q: Who is your biggest mentor?
A: My biggest mentor is my grandma. She is my #1 fan, she is always there for me, and always gives me motivation to be the hardest working one in the gym. Without her I would not be anywhere close to the player I am today.
Q: What is your favorite memory from your sport?
A: My favorite memory from playing volleyball here at Barrington and going down to state. My sophomore and junior year we were lucky enough to qualify for state, and it was a blast. We played some incredible volleyball to be able to get there, and finishing top 4 in the state is pretty amazing.
