For the past 66 years, people everywhere unite for one night to tune into the Grammys, whether it’s to predict the winners of each category, to see their favorite artists or to just watch the performances. With it being 2025 and the internet is bigger than ever and constantly swarming with opinions. Let’s talk about the gossip, the snubs and the unexpected at the 2025 Grammys.

Starting off strong, there have been tons of arguments and debates swirling around on social media discussing Béyonce and her winnings. She took home Album of the Year and Country Album of Year earning lots of criticism from people all over. Many believe Billie Ellish or Charli XCX should’ve won AOTY instead and argued they were the more deserving albums. Others argue Cowboy Carter, her winning album, was not a country album and did not feature an authentic country sound.

In addition Jay-Z went on stage during the 2024 Grammys and talked about how Béyonce has never won AOTY but has the most Grammys, making this years winning of AOTY (Album of the Year) even more ironic— leaving some wondering if she deserved these Grammys or were other artists snubbed in the midst of her glory.

Charli XCX took the stage by storm this year performing her hit song Guess featuring Billie Ellish on stage. The performance featured celebrities such as The Dare, Alex Consani and Julia Fox. People were wondering, however, why Billie Eilish wasn’t performing with her considering she was in attendance, creating another small debate throughout the internet.

Even though she wasn’t on stage, she was shown jamming out on TV, dancing and having fun. Charli XCX also won Best Dance/ Electronic Album which did not shock most people. After Charli XCX’s viral Brat summer there was not a lot of doubt with this win.

Finally, Kendrick Lamar won five Grammys for his hit song Not Like Us includingMusic Video of the Year, Rap Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance and Song of the Year. This quickly resulted in lots of memes about Drake, the rapper this song is centered around, and how he must feel after Lamar’s diss track earned him as many Grammys as he has ever won. More memes talked about how he won five Grammys for being a hater.

Others argued that while Not Like Us was a decent song, it should not have won Song of the Year. But rather Billie Eilish and her song Birds of a Feather. This opened a completely new discussion on Billie Eilish and all her snubs this year, having seven nominees but not one Grammy.

The Grammys this year were full of surprises and drama. The aftermath left the internet in shambles, opening up both arguments and discussions. Want to share your opinions?
