The Lego Batman Movie
At first glance, this is a childish, goofy spin on the classic comic book character, ‘The Batman.’ At its heart, though, is a heartwarming story about learning to rely on others – and has humor that holds up, even as the audience ages with the film.

The Princess Bride
Based on the book by William Goldman, this well-worn fantasy classic has it all: pirates, princes, true love, and (inconceivable?!) some of the most-quotable lines ever. Some were lucky enough to grow up watching this movie – others, well, they should catch up before they miss the best lines!

It’s a Wonderful Life
In 1946, actor Jimmy Stewart had just returned from fighting in WW2. He returned to his pre-war acting career as George Bailey, a man contemplating suicide for the insurance payout, following a terrible financial crisis. Stewart leaned into his own experiences with PTSD, painting George’s struggles in vivid hues. The film is dark, tragic, and beautifully, shimmeringly hopeful.

Yesterday
If you’re looking for a sweet (though slightly stupid) romcom, you’ve found your next watch. Jack Malik is a struggling musician until he wakes up one day and realizes he is the only person who can remember The Beatles! What follows is super-stardom, two love interests dancing around each other, and more Beatles songs than you can count.

Superman
Can you really call yourself a movie fan if you haven’t seen “Superman” (1978)? Yes, it’s cheesy, and some of the graphics are decidedly cringe-worthy. But, the film’s heart and Christopher Reeve’s perfect casting results in, undoubtedly, the best adaptation of The Man of Steel on the silver screen.

The Social Network
Want to be convinced to watch this movie in a sentence? Here goes: Andrew Garfield smashes Mark Zuckerberg’s computer. Convinced?

A Few Good Men
Tom Cruise plays a hot-shot U.S. Navy lawyer, who desperately attempts to defend two young Marines in a heated web of courtroom drama. If you’ve never wanted to be a lawyer, this film might just convince you otherwise.
