Today—April 8—students gathered outside to catch a glimpse of the 2024 solar eclipse.
The eclipse hit its peak at 2:07. This is when the sun was most covered by the moon.
Students were only able to view a partial solar eclipse, Barrington did not fall into the total eclipse path.
For many, today was reminiscent of the previous eclipse in 2017.
“The eclipse today really reminded me of the last time we got to see an eclipse in school…I remember I was in fifth grade and thought it was so cool,” Junior Oliviya Kravchuk said.
The next total eclipse spanning over many states is projected to occur in 2045.
