Superintendent resigns with intent to return to Ohio
On Friday Jan. 27, Superintendent Dr. Robert Hunt announced his plans to resign from district 220. He plans to resign on June 30, 2023, which will make it 2 years since he started working with the district.
Hunt will return to Ohio, where he lived and worked as the superintendent of Chagrin Falls Schools before moving to Barrington. Upon his return he will work as the superintendent of Upper Arlington Schools in Ohio.
The Barrington 220 Board of Education will have a meeting in closed session on Tuesday, Jan. 31 to discuss the district’s future plans. Following Tuesday more information on the district’s pursuit of a new superintendent will be released.
In Hunt’s announcement he described his resignation as a “personal family-based decision.” He also expressed his gratitude towards the Barrington community and district 220.
Hunt and the board are working to create a smooth transition with no disruption within the district.
