The Broncos tied the Chiefs 3-3 on Saturday night on Feb 2 2026. Senior captain Brody Chavous added on to James Crossin’s ‘26 goal by scoring two goals in clutch time to tie up the game.
“The second goal was with about three minutes left and the third goal was on a five on three power play with a minute and a half left,” Chavous said.
Chavous and the team also credited the Barrington student section who dubbed themselves “The Barrington Hockey Fan Club” who showed up and brought the energy.
“Yeah, the crowd definitely helped us out. The Barrington hockey fan club came out and supported us. It was a lot of fun. It was a very loud environment…I think there, we played a lot better. They did a good job getting in the other team’s heads and they couldn’t hear anything,” Chavous said.
This game has been said to have been one of the loudest BHS student section environments in recent years, with over 70 screaming dedicated students packed the West Meadows Ice Arena.
“From a spectators point of view. All I could say was, I don’t think I’ve ever been in something like that before. There were over 70 of us there, and it was really loud, especially when Brody scored the two goals,” Prit Patel ’26 said, a dedicated fan in the crowd.
With the season slowly coming to an end, team captain Chavous is going to miss the season.
“I’m gonna miss it a lot. I’m gonna miss hockey in general, and I’m starting to love it again, which is sad, because I only have two weeks left,” Chavous said.
