Maya Singh

“Maya demonstrates compassion and empathy in school through various actions. For instance, she greets almost every student with a smile, a friendly hello, or a compliment, spreading positively throughout the halls. Maya is always willing to assist her teacher or classmates in the classroom and provide encouragement to those in need. I believe Maya is one of the best examples of a senior here at BHS who has shown kindness all year and would be an excellent candidate for the “Goodwill” award.”- Julie Bjerregaard

Joey Laurin

“Joey is happy to be at school and is kind to everyone he meets. Out of the 4 years of school even during Covid Joey did what he needed to do and NEVER complained!”- Liz Robbins

Preyansh Jain

“Preyansh is the kindest soul that l’ve encountered in my time at Barrington. He is organic about it and genuine. I’ve seen him impact everyone around him with how great of a person he is and how he affects his kindness on others. He also has such a positive affect on his students groups, his staff who lead him in his classes and the community during the advisories this year. All have been so complimentary and so impacted by Preyansh. Barrington is a better place because of Preyansh.”- Kerri McCastland

Sarah Jensen

“Sarah is so clearly a caring and kind soul. Anyone who is fortunate to sit with her in class receives her warm smiles, her listening ear, and comforting presence. Sarah’s character trait is her awareness of those around her here in school as well as in the community and offering her time and support to those in need. Sarah embodies the essence of a good human and I’m sure she will go forth in life and share that with the world!”- Mercedes Beltran

Colin Goodman

“Colin lends a helping hand to classmates in need during Culinary labs, and he does so with a smile on his face. He frequently volunteers to assist wherever needed, whether it be for prep or clean up. He is mature for his age and genuinely has a wonderful demeanor and attitude about life.”- Elizabeth Kotrba

Aiden has time and time again asked to volunteer, advocate for, help out, and speak at after school events for our graphic design class and the BHS fine arts department.”- Joe Zimka

Alec Lechuga

“This young man definitely shows empathy, selflessness, sincerity  & inspiring if I was to describe him. Alec has such a really kind & genuine soul. When he smiles you automatically feel how sincere he really is. His parents have definitely brought him up with lots of love & compassion.  It shows how genuinely he treats his peers on a daily basis. He would be a great mentor/ role model for younger teens looking for any  guidance or motivation . Most of all, Alec has shown me in several situations how he has unconditionally put the needs of others before his own. So when I think of a good human, Alec Lechuga stands apart from so many students and has  never had entitlement as an agenda.”- Anthony Scafidi

Chloe Hutton

“Chloe demonstrates her kindness in various ways. She consistently demonstrates empathy and compassion towards others, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Chloe’s gestures of kindness also extend to small acts of generosity, such as sharing her belongings or running out to get you a medicine ball from Starbucks when you aren’t feeling well.
