Winter is here! Make-up has always had its own microtrends along with fashion. However, are people going back to matte or staying glowy? There are many different make-up looks you can find on the internet. I have always loved the glowy look, makeup should accentuate your facial features not hide. Highlighter on the cheekbones, soft glow on the skin and bronzer to add color to the face for the tan you’re losing. More specifically, the “scandi girl” make-up look is the perfect low-key glowy look to be going for this winter. “Scandi girl” make-up doesn’t use powder, it has to be very glowy. They mostly use a lot of bronzing products, highlighters, pink blush, and mascara. I will give recommendations for each make-up product you need to achieve this look. I know how make-up can be so expensive these days, so I give two products and offer a cheaper product with the same high quality.
Skin tint / foundation:
Keep in mind…you are going for a natural look. You want something that gives minimum coverage so you can have that glowy look to your face. My recommendations:
Skin tints are your best friend! I love the Ilia super serum skin tint for its natural finish. And never forget your sunscreen! Cost – $48.00
Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40
The glossier skin tint is much more affordable and very easy to apply. Glossier products are made to be able to use your hands, so it makes the application process much faster! Cost – $28.00
Perfecting Skin Tint
For glowy looks, cream products are usually the best type of makeup to use. However, when using bronzer I find myself using a cream one, and then putting a powder one over it. Patrick Ta’s bronzer and contour duo palette is perfect to make sure you achieve that tan look. Luckily, the bronzer in this duo palette is powder so it will not budge while you’re ice skating or making gingerbread houses! Cost – $40.00
Major Sculpt Crème Contour & Powder Bronzer Duo
A cheaper alternative would be the physician’s formula butter bronzer. It’s very buildable and has a nice neutral tone so it can work for bronzer and contour. Again, powder bronzers are better because cream tends to not last on the skin or you would have to wear a cream and then powder on top. It’s better to just stick to powder bronzer to make sure your make-up lasts all night long! Cost – $16.99
The Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb is to die for. Rhianna did her magic with this one because it’s one of the most show stopping highlighters out there right now. And remember, you can put highlighter above your lip, under your eyebrow and on your lids. I personally love using this on my lids instead of ever using eyeshadow. Cost – $40.00
Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil — How Many Carats?!
I would say the revolution highlighter is the best drugstore highlighter on the market. It is comparable to high end makeup, for a quarter of a price! Cost – $7.00!

The saie cream blush blends flawlessly into the skin, giving it that rosy touch. It has repeadtelty been noticed as a high quality blush and a go to for many girls! Cost – $25.00
Dew Blush
The e.l.f. Halo glow beauty wand is the perfect mix of a blush/highlighter. It gives a natural glowy finish and stays put throughout the night. Cost – $9.00
